Taiwan Foreign Minister Lin Chia-lung announced during the Philippines' Independence Day celebration in Taipei that Taiwan has extended its visa-free entry program for Filipino passport holders for another year, continuing the island's efforts to strengthen bilateral relations.
The Bureau of Consular Affairs of Taiwan's Ministry for Foreign Affairs announced the one-year extension of visa-free entry for citizens of the Philippines, Brunei, and Thailand from August 1, 2024 to July 31, 2025, marking the latest renewal of this popular travel initiative.
Philippine passport holders may enter Taiwan visa-free for up to 14 days, providing Filipino travelers with convenient access to the island for tourism, business, and cultural exchanges without complex visa procedures.
Taiwan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the decision was made in line with their efforts to promote the New Southbound Policy, which aims to deepen economic and cultural cooperation with Southeast Asian nations.
After evaluating the effectiveness of the above measures over the past years, participating agencies decided to extend the trial visa-free entry program, demonstrating Taiwan's commitment to maintaining strong people-to-people connections with its regional partners.
