Southeast Asia is officially the heart of global romance. According to the Ipsos Love Life Satisfaction Index 2026, Thailand and Indonesia have emerged as the world leaders in romantic satisfaction. Thailand claims the top spot with an impressive index score of 86, while Indonesia follows closely in second place with a score of 85.

This data highlights a remarkable level of relationship fulfillment in the region that surpasses global averages. These two nations have managed to outshine countries traditionally associated with romance, such as Mexico and Spain, which both scored 81. It appears that the cultural emphasis on close-knit connections and warmth in these Southeast Asian communities translates directly into happier partnerships.

The regional success story continues with Malaysia also securing a spot among the world’s most romantically satisfied nations. Malaysia ranks seventh globally with a score of 78, tying with the Netherlands. The presence of three Southeast Asian countries in the top ten suggests that the region’s social fabric and family-oriented values play a significant role in fostering strong romantic bonds.

The top ten list is rounded out by a diverse group of nations from Latin America and beyond, including Colombia, Peru, Chile, and South Africa. However, the exceptional scores of Thailand and Indonesia remain the highlight of the study. Their ability to maintain such high levels of satisfaction sets a global benchmark for what it means to be happy in love.
