Thailand plans to cut its visa-free list from 93 to 57 countries and end the 60-day stay scheme introduced in July 2024.
Tourism and Sports Minister Surasak Phancharoenworakul said the proposal will go to Cabinet soon. He noted that over 90% of tourists leave within 30 days.
Authorities cited misuse of the 60-day stay for illegal work. Longer stays will still be available through business or long-term visas.
