Thailand’s Suchata “Opal” Chuangsri has been crowned Miss World 2025, making history as the first Thai woman to win the prestigious international beauty pageant.
The 24-year-old Chiang Mai native, a graduate in Communication Arts from Chulalongkorn University, impressed the judges with her advocacy for mental health awareness and her eloquence on global stage issues.
Her victory was announced at the Miss World grand finale in Mumbai, India, where contestants from over 110 countries competed for the title.
Opal’s Beauty With a Purpose project, focused on destigmatizing mental health in Thai youth, earned her global acclaim and positioned her among the competition’s frontrunners.
The Miss World Organization praised her “grace, intelligence, and compassion,” calling her a role model for young women worldwide.
