The United States and Israel have reached out to officials from Sudan, Somalia, and an unrecognized country of Somaliland to explore relocating displaced Palestinians from Gaza Strip, a controversial plan that has faced widespread condemnation.

While Sudanese officials confirmed rejecting the proposal, representatives from Somalia and Somaliland stated they were unaware of any such discussions.

The plan, championed by the U.S. President Donald Trump, envisions the U.S. taking control of Gaza, rehabilitating it, and turning it into a real estate development, an idea dismissed by Palestinians and criticized by rights groups as a potential war crime.

Despite fierce opposition from Arab nations and legal concerns, Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu continue to push forward with what they describe as a "bold vision."
