Viet Nam is rapidly advancing to become Southeast Asia's fourth-largest automobile market, with impressive growth momentum that outpaces regional competitors.
In the second quarter of 2025, Viet Nam's car sales surged by 18%, reaching 90,772 units, demonstrating the country's robust automotive sector expansion.
The Vietnam Automobile Manufacturers Association (VAMA) reported that total market sales reached 31,977 vehicles in June 2025, marking a 20% increase compared to the same period in 2024, highlighting sustained year-over-year growth.
Including major players like VinFast, which sold 35,100 vehicles in the first quarter, Viet Nam's total car sales reached 118,813 units, officially surpassing the Philippines' 117,074 units to claim the fourth position in ASEAN for the first time.
With automobile manufacturing volume exceeding 360,000 vehicles, Viet Nam now ranks fourth in Southeast Asia's production capacity, positioning the nation as a key automotive hub in the region's fastest-growing market segment.
