Cake, a digital-only bank based in Viet Nam, has officially become the first in Southeast Asia to receive the ISO/IEC 30107-3 Level 2 certification, the highest international recognition for facial biometric security, as confirmed by iBeta Quality Assurance.

This achievement places Cake at the forefront of digital banking innovation in the region, proving its system can effectively detect advanced biometric fraud attempts, including high-resolution photo and video spoofing, as explained by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) standards.

According to Asian Banking & Finance, this certification underscores Cake’s commitment to secure, convenient, and user-friendly banking, with enhanced trust for identity verification during account openings and transactions.

Globenewswire reports that Cake’s advanced biometric solution was rigorously tested using the ISO/IEC 30107-3 protocol, which evaluates facial recognition systems against 1,500 diverse presentation attacks under strict laboratory conditions.

By attaining this benchmark, Cake is not only elevating the standards for digital banking in Southeast Asia but also setting a precedent for how fintech platforms across emerging markets can combine accessibility with world-class security.
