3 Southeast Asia Hotels Ranked World’s Top 10 by TripAdvisor

The world's largest travel site, TripAdvisor, has named the world's best hotel in its 15th annual Travellers' Choice Awards, based on millions of reviews and opinions from travellers across the globe.

Opened in early 2015, the luxurious music-themed boutique hotel in Hungary has an average rate of $382 a night according to TripAdvisor. The former bank houses 49 rooms in a seven-storey neoclassical building, split into four wings inspired by opera, jazz, classical and contemporary music. 

Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve hotel in Ubud, Indonesia took out second place with a higher average rate of $666 a night. Located on a dramatic cliff top 100 meters above Ayung River and nestled into the Ubud forest, Mandapa (Sanskrit for temple) boasts a full immersion inside the native Ubud culture, recreating the Balinese way of living.

There are 60 offered with the options of rainforest, Ayung River, or rice paddies views, each decorated traditional Balinese décor. Located in a district renowned for its arts and crafts, intricately carved temples and natural beauty, is perfect for those looking for serenity of seclusion with luxury.

Two other hotels in Southeast Asia also made it to the top 10 list. Shita mani Resport in Siem Reap, Cambodia took out seventh place. “Stayed for 3 nights as part of our honeymoon trip and were completely impressed and satisfied! The hotel itself is a hidden gem perfectly managed and taken care to the extreme of every detail!” wrote guest Gazoon from Valencia, Spain.

This was followed by Hanoi La Siesta Hotel & Spa in Hanoi, Vietnam. “We were totally impressed with the service, the room and the food. We would give it 10 stars if TripAdvisor had that many,” wrote the top reviewer on TripAdvisor website.

The most expensive stay in the TripAdvisor top 10 was the JA Manafaru, a luxury resort in the Maldives, that will set you back $1075 a night. 

In addition to the global list, TripAdvisor also parsed award winners by country and 9 regional lists.
