Prominent Southeast Asia organisations have been listed among the world’s most influential think tanks in 2017 according to a study by the Lauder Institute of the University of Pennsylvania (Penn), Philadelphia of United States.
The inclusion of an institution in the universe of leading think tanks does not indicate a seal of approval or endorsement of the institution, its publications, or its programs on the part of the Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program.
Likewise, a failure to be nominated does not necessarily indicate a lack of quality and effectiveness or poor performance.
There are 6,486 think tanks that are doing exceptional work to help bridge the gap between knowledge and policy.
Thus, this 2017 report edition of The Global Go To Think Tank Index Report is no more than an effort to highlight some of the leading think tanks worldwide.
The annual report ranks the world’s think tanks in various categories with the help of a panel of over 1,900 peer institutions and experts from around the world.
With that, here presenting to you the results of the 2017 rankings process below; The Top Think Tanks in Southeast Asia in World’s Most Influential Think Tanks category.

The Singapore Institute of International Affairs (SIIA) is a non-profit and independent organisation dedicated to the research, analysis, and discussion of regional and international issues.
Founded in 1961, the SIIA is Singapore’s oldest think tank. Through policy research and dialogue, we aim to bridge the gap between policymakers, private sector decision-makers and experts to shape public influence as well as impact policy and social responses.

The Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) in Jakarta is an independent, non-profit organisation focusing on policy-oriented studies on domestic and international issues. It was established in 1971.
Indonesia’s Centre for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), was number 65 on the list of top non-US think tanks in last year's rankings.

The Institute of Southeast Asian Studies is a research institute located in Singapore. Established in 1968, it includes several study centres, a library and a publishing house.
It was renamed ISEAS - Yusof Ishak Institute in August 2015 in honour of Singapore's first President.

The Asia Competitiveness Institute (ACI) was established in August 2006 as a research centre at the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP), National University of Singapore (NUS).
Its primary aim is to contribute to the understanding and enhancement of economic growth and living standards through undertaking rigorous research on policy issues relating to the competitiveness of clusters and comparative regions in Asia.
The centre also envisions the building of an intellectual leadership and network for understanding and developing competitiveness in the Asian region.
