Based on the data by We Are Social, there are 175.4 million internet users in Indonesia. Relying on Indonesia's current population of 272.1 million, this means that 64 percent of the Indonesian population has had access to cyberspace. This high number of internet users influenced by the role of the internet for society daily. It is common knowledge that the internet brings convenience to users since it helps to access something like social media or e-commerce.

According to GlobalWebIndex, There are 90% of internet users visit e-commerce, and 88% of them finally buy something from e-commerce. In Indonesia, There are lots of e-commerce that is in great demand by Indonesians.

But here the top 5 picks based on the survey by Monthly Traffic :

  1. Shopee ( 93,44)

Shopee is a Singapore-based e-commerce site under the Sea Group, a global market online retailer founded in 2015 by Forrest Li. Shopee was first launched in Singapore in 2015 and has since broadened to include Malaysia, Thailand, Taiwan, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines, and Brazil.

2. Tokopedia (86,1)

Tokopedia is an e-commerce company based in Indonesia. Since its establishment in 2009, Tokopedia has become an influential unicorn not only in Indonesia but also in South East Asia. Tokopedia has been one of the most visited markets for Indonesians to date.

Bukalapak, created in 2010 by Achmad Zaky, Nugroho Herucahyono, and Muhamad Fajrin Rasyid, was primarily a retail store that allowed small and medium-sized entrepreneurs to venture into cyberspace.
