BTS become the most favourite among Southeast Asian users. They topped the list of the most-streamed artist in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. BTS lost the title of most-streamed artist in the Philippines as they were (beaten) by Ben&Ben, a local folk-pop group.
BTS followed by Justin Bieber, BLACKPINK, Taylor Swift and Lauv as the top five most-streamed artists in Southeast Asia.
In Indonesia, the ranking is led by Pamungkas, a Jakarta singer-songwriter. Fiersa Besari sat in the second followed by Hindia (aka Baskara Putra) in the third. The fourth and the fifth place were held by Tulus and the late Glenn Fredly, who died earlier this year.
The ranking of most-listened artists in Singapore is dominated by Veteran Mandopop Singers. JJ Lin sat in the top of the list. Stefanie Sun came in the second and Gentle Bones was the third. Tanya Chua was fourth and Jasmine Sokko was number five.
Thailand’s number four and five of most-streamed artists were pop-rock group Three Man Down and the duo SCRUBB who topped at the local list. Following them in the local list were BOWKYLION, the Brit-rock trio Tilly Birds, and Stamp.
Den and Chillies were the third and fifth in the most-streamed artist in Vietnam’s list. Both of them topped the local list as well. These two were followed by Son Tùng MTP, Bich Phuong and Hoang Thuy Linh.
The top five worldwide of the most-streamed artist on Spotify for the year of 2020 were Bad Bunny, Drake, J Balvin, Juice WRLD, and The Weeknd.
