The yearly study on the world's most valuable and strongest brands was released by Brand Finance, the world's largest brand valuation consultancy, in January 2022. Every year, they measure the financial value of brands and put 5.000 of the world's most well-known brands to the test.

According to the survey, Apple is the most valuable brand in the world, with a record valuation of over US$355 billion, followed by Amazon and Google. However, TikTok, the newest entrant, has been designated the world's fastest-growing brand, with a growth rate of 215 percent, and is driving a worldwide media consumption revolution.

This is a significant year for Indonesia. Telkom, a state-owned telecoms provider, was named the most valuable brand in the Brand Finance Global 500 study for the first time. With a ranking of 490, Telkom Indonesia has taken a decent first step.

Telkom rated #1 among the top 100 most valuable Indonesian brands, according to brand valuation consultant Brand Finance Indonesia, with a value of $3.9 billion. Even though the fact that Telkom's brand value fell by 19 percent in 2021 from roughly $4.8 billion in 2020. Despite this, the corporation was able to retain first place for the sixth year in a row.

Petronas, Malaysia's most valuable ASEAN brand, has retained its position and is still among the top 10 Oil and Gas brands in the world. Petronas, which is now rated 143, has improved by ten places from last year when it was placed 153.

Petronas' position is attributed to its steady brand success, which contributed to a Brand Value of US$13.6 billion in 2022, up from US$12 billion in 2021, a 13 percent rise. Petronas was able to rebound from last year's oil and gas sector issues because of an increase in energy demand as the global economy improves post-pandemic.

Then there's a surprise from Vietnam. With a brand value of US$8.758 billion, the Military Industry-Telecoms Group (Viettel) climbed 99 positions to 227th place on the list of the world's 500 most valuable brands in 2022. Viettel was ranked 326th last year.

Viettel maintains its position as Southeast Asia's leading telecoms brand, ranking among the top three most valuable brands in the area.

DBS and OCBC Bank, both from Singapore, grab the next two spots. Each brand was ranked 234 (out of 245) and 483 respectively (from 433). Singapore bank brands have consistently ranked in the top 500 most valuable bank brands in the world since 2018.
