-Singapore Changi Airport, which was top in the region in 2019, was ranked 12th in the Asia-Pacific region. Hong Kong, however, was excluded from the Top 50. In contrast, in 2019 it came in second in the area.

The top 50 airports in the world by international connections and the top 25 airports in the United States by domestic connections are listed in the OAG Megahubs Index 2022. The index is produced by contrasting the quantity of scheduled connections to and from foreign flights with the quantity of locations served by the airport.

The Megahubs Index uses OAG's MCT Exception Table in addition to the world's most extensive schedules database to dynamically generate links using a dedicated analytics platform, Connections Analyser.

The biggest airports in the world now operate differently, and delayed recovery patterns have a negative impact on global connectivity. In many cases, the combinations of flights and destinations that contribute to connection at large airports have undergone a significant transformation. In various regions of the world in 2022, some well-known names are absent, while other airports have risen in the ranks while others have declined.

OAG's flight data platform, which has the most complete airline schedules and a global flight connections database, is used to develop linkages and generate distinctive rankings for Megahubs.

A few airports in the Asia-Pacific region are included in the Top 10 Low-Cost Carrier Airport Megahubs list.

Even though the United States has the largest domestic aviation market in the world, IndiGo's dominance in India has elevated Mumbai's Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (BOM) and Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (DEL) to first and second place, respectively, in 2022. Delhi was ranked sixth in 2019 while BOM was ranked eleventh.

This year, Denver International Airport (DEN) came in third, mostly as a result of Southwest Airlines' significant presence there. Additionally, Frontier Airlines also has a base in Denver. Thanks to the significant presence of Southwest Airlines, Orlando International Airport (MCO) and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport (LAS) were ranked fourth and fifth, respectively.

Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport fell from second place in 2019 to seventh place, while Kuala Lumpur International Airport fell from first place to twentieth place in the LCC airport Megahubs. Changi Airport in Singapore was not in the Top 25. In 2019, however, it came in third.
