About 120 strategic projects related to water and sanitation worth USD 9.4 billion will be agreed upon at the 10th World Water Forum in Bali on May 18-25, 2024. This information was revealed by the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, during the opening of the National Committee Coordination Meeting for the 10th World Water Forum at the Laguna Resort and Spa, Bali (May 16).
This largest global water forum will be attended by 13,448 participants from 148 countries.
In a press release dated May 17, an estimated 9,477 delegates from 104 countries are expected to attend the forum in Nusa Dua, Badung Regency, Bali.
At the VVIP level, 8 heads of state are expected to attend, including those from Timor Leste, Fiji, Tajikistan, Sri Lanka, Hungary and Morocco, who will join Indonesia as the host country. One other head of state has yet to confirm his attendance.
There will also be three deputy prime ministers representing Malaysia, Papua New Guinea, and Slovakia, and three special presidential envoys from the Netherlands, France, and the United Arab Emirates. More than 105 ministers from 132 countries and international organizations are also expected to attend.
As of Wednesday (May 15), several delegates have already arrived through Bali's I Gusti Ngurah Rai International Airport, and more are expected to arrive in the run-up to the 2024 World Water Forum.
