Starting July 1, 2024, Cambodia will implement a new immigration system that will require all travelers to apply for the CeA electronic arrival card or "Cambodia e-Arrival" at least seven days before entering the country. This system replaces the traditional paper immigration forms, health forms and customs declarations, simplifying the process and providing a more convenient start to travelers' journeys.
Although Cambodia's new e-immigration system simplifies the entry process, a visa is still required to enter the country. You can apply for a visa online or upon arrival.
Please note that this process currently only applies to travelers arriving by air at Phnom Penh and Siem Reap airports. Visitors entering Cambodia by land, boat, or Sihanoukville airport must still use paper forms.
Cambodia's new e-immigration system, which replaces the traditional paper-based methods, can be accessed through the e-immigration app or the official website (arrival.gov.kh). Here is the process:
Registration:
1. Create an account on the e-immigration app or the official website (arrival.gov.kh).
2. Take a photo and upload your passport information.
E-Arrival Card:
1. Obtain the e-arrival card for free from the official website (up to 7 days before arrival) or the Cambodia e-Arrival app (available on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store).
2. Save the generated QR code for verification.
3. When you arrive, show the QR code (printed or electronic) to immigration officials.
If you miss the online application deadline, don't worry! You can still complete the e-Arrival process on tablets available at Siem Reap and Phnom Penh airports.
To expedite the arrival process, travelers can order an electronic visa on arrival (e-VOA) for $30 through the app or use the Fast Track Visa service. While the Fast Track Visa service is available, the e-immigration process must still be completed with the assistance of immigration officers at the airport using the tablets provided.
