The renowned American magazine Travel+Leisure has announced the results of the World's Best Awards 2024. In this prestigious award, Hoi An, a charming ancient city in Vietnam, has proudly secured the title of the fourth most beautiful city in the world and the third in Asia.

This announcement was made on July 16, placing Hoi An among the 25 favorite tourist destinations worldwide and the 25 favorites in Asia, based on readers' choices. The award provides insights into the world's best travel destinations based on criteria such as culture, cuisine, friendliness, attractions, and shopping opportunities.

This prestigious award, now in its 29th year, is based on the votes of over 186,000 Travel+Leisure magazine readers. From these readers, more than 700,000 reviews were collected on over 8,700 facilities, including hotels, cities, cruise lines, and various other travel services.

Hoi An's extraordinary achievement makes it the only city in Vietnam to make this list, with a score of 90.67 points. This accomplishment places Hoi An among the world's favorite travel destinations, alongside San Miguel de Allende (Mexico) in first place, Udaipur (India) in second, and Kyoto (Japan) in third.

Hoi An also outshone other renowned cities worldwide, such as Chiang Mai (Thailand), Florence (Italy), Bangkok (Thailand), Tokyo (Japan), Ubud (Bali, Indonesia), and Funchal (Portugal).

Additionally, the city is a dream destination for history lovers, with its ancient architecture and well-preserved trading port as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
