In an effort to strengthen and solidify interoperability and common understanding in the conduct of the joint exercise ORRUDA 2024, the Indonesian Navy (TNI AL) and the Russian Navy held a Tactical Floor Game (TFG) at the TFG room of Puslatkaprang, Kolat Koarmada II, Surabaya, on Monday, November 4.
The event took place after the opening ceremony which was led by the Commander of the Indonesian Fleet (Pangkoarmada RI) Admiral TNI Dr. Denih Hendrata, representing the Chief of Naval Staff (Kasal) Admiral TNI Dr. Muhammad Ali and the Russian Ambassador Sergey Gennadievich Tolchenov.
The activities conducted by the ORRUDA 2024 Task Force Operations Staff included an OPSO Brief, in which all OPSO, COMSO, NO, PWO, Pilots and the Boarding Team participated to discuss the sea phase activities.
After the OPSO Brief, activities continued with a SMEE VBSS session led by Kopaska and an OCS Brief to discuss the training series. This was followed by the Tactical Floor Game (TFG) to align perceptions and coordinate movements of each element.
Familiarization and Cooperation Exercise
Participants from the TNI AL and the Russian Navy, including operational staff from KRI GNR-332, KRI FKO-368, helicopter pilots from HS-1306, and personnel from the Russian ships Rezky, Aldar Tsydenzhapov, Gromky, Pechenga, and the KA-27 helicopter, actively participated in the activities.
On the same day, TNI AL and Russian Navy personnel conducted familiarization and ship tours aboard KRI FKO-368 and RF Pechenga in preparation for the landing and personnel transfer exercises. Both parties also exchanged knowledge and experience to enhance the capabilities of the visit, board, search and seizure (VBSS) teams and helicopter crews.
Joint Fleet Unit Deployment
The ORRUDA 2024 joint exercise is divided into two phases: the port phase and the sea phase. TNI AL will deploy KRI GNR-332, KRI FKO-368 and AS 565 MBE helicopters, while the Russian Navy will deploy corvette-class warships such as RF Rezky, RF Gromky and RF Aldar Tsydenzhapov, as well as the tanker Pechenga, KA-27 helicopters and the salvage tug Alatau.
This exercise is an implementation of the orders of the Chief of the Naval Staff, Admiral Dr. Muhammad Ali TNI, emphasizing optimal readiness for joint exercises with friendly nations to enhance interoperability and military cooperation.
