A total of nine diaspora players have officially been called up by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) to join the Indonesia U17 national team’s training camp (TC), as part of preparations for the 2025 FIFA U17 World Cup to be held in Qatar.
The training camp will take place in Bali from July 7 to 10, 2025, and serves as an initial phase of selection and adaptation for young football talents of Indonesian descent currently playing abroad.
These nine players, all of whom have Indonesian heritage, are currently developing their football careers at various clubs in Europe and Australia. Their presence is expected to strengthen the Garuda Muda squad and potentially open the door for naturalization in the future, provided they meet the necessary requirements.
Profiles of the 9 Diaspora Players
1. Feike Muller Latupeirissa
Feike Muller Latupeirissa is a 16-year-old central defender born in the Netherlands on December 10, 2008. He currently plays for Willem II Tilburg U-17. Although raised in the Netherlands, he has Indonesian ancestry through his maternal grandfather.
2. Lionel De Troy
Born in Indonesia on January 6, 2008, Lionel De Troy is a talented attacking midfielder currently playing for U.S. Città di Palermo in Italy. He has a multicultural background, with an Indonesian mother and a Cameroonian father.
3. Eizar Jacob Tanjung
Eizar was born in Australia on August 30, 2008, and plays as a defensive midfielder for Sydney FC U-16. Both of his parents are Indonesian citizens, making him one of the diaspora players with the strongest familial ties to Indonesia.
4. Floris De Pagter
Floris, born in the Netherlands on September 8, 2008, plays as an attacking midfielder for SC Telstar. He has Indonesian roots through his grandparents and is now ready to showcase his potential with the U17 national team.
5. Noha Pohan Simangunsong
Noha is a versatile midfielder born in Indonesia on March 12, 2010. He currently plays for NAC Breda U-15 in the Netherlands. His father is Indonesian, while his mother is of Finnish descent.
6. Jona Giesselink
Jona was born in the Netherlands on March 2, 2008, and plays as a central or attacking midfielder (CDM or CAM) for FC Emmen. He has Indonesian heritage through his maternal grandparents, who were born on Halmahera Island, Maluku, before moving to the Netherlands.
7. Azadin Ayoub Hamane
Azadin, born in Norway on September 26, 2008, is a versatile winger who plays on both the right and left flanks for Elverum FC. His mother is Indonesian (born in Norway), while his father is of Moroccan descent.
8. Nicholas Indra Mjøsund
Born in Norway on January 13, 2010, Nicholas plays as a winger on either side and is currently part of the youth squad at Rosenborg BK, a Norwegian club. His Indonesian roots come from his mother, while his father is Norwegian.
9. Deston Deandré Denzell Hoop
Deston is a right winger born in the Netherlands on May 30, 2008. He plays for SC Telstar and has Indonesian heritage through his grandfather. Despite his young age, Deston has shown great promise as a future prospect.
