The Apurva Kempinski Bali is set to host the fourth edition of Path to Sustainable Growth (PTSG) on June 24, 2026. Carrying the theme “Regenerate for the Future,” this year’s forum expands its focus beyond tourism to include six sectors, such as hospitality, finance, agriculture, education, the creative economy, and other related industries.
The broader scope reflects an increasingly multidisciplinary approach to sustainability issues. Environmental and social challenges are now seen as problems that can no longer be addressed by a single industry alone, but instead require cross-sector collaboration and collective action.
The Apurva Kempinski Bali itself previously became the first hotel in Indonesia to receive certification from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC), an international organisation that sets sustainability standards for the global travel and tourism industry.
Industry Leaders Driving Collaboration
A number of prominent figures from diverse backgrounds are scheduled to participate as speakers throughout the summit. Among them are Gusti Kanjeng Ratu (GKR) Mangkubumi and ARMA founder Anak Agung Gde Rai, who will share perspectives on cultural heritage, preservation, and intergenerational sustainability.
Meanwhile, Nina Sudiono from Rainforest Alliance is set to take part in discussions on environmental conservation. Merta Ada from Bali Usada will also explore sustainability approaches centered on people and communities.
PTSG 2026 also builds on the momentum of last year’s event, which brought together more than 250 industry professionals and practitioners.
While previous editions largely focused on exchanging ideas and perspectives, this year’s programme places greater emphasis on implementation and the development of tangible initiatives capable of creating long-term impact.
This shift reflects a broader trend emerging across Southeast Asia, where sustainability conversations are increasingly moving toward more practical, collaborative, and impact-driven solutions.
The Rise of Regenerative Thinking
This year’s theme, “Regenerate for the Future,” also signals a shift from conventional sustainability toward a more active regenerative approach.
Traditional sustainability frameworks have generally focused on maintaining existing systems and minimising negative impacts. In contrast, regenerative approaches aim to actively restore ecosystems, strengthen communities, and rebuild affected socio-economic systems.
This concept is reflected in the four main pillars of PTSG 2026: Repurposing, Refreshing Lives, Regenerating, and Rethinking Resources. These pillars will serve as the foundation for discussions throughout the summit, particularly in exploring how industries can rethink growth, resource management, and long-term resilience.
Incubation Programme for Students and Early-Stage Startups
One of the key initiatives under PTSG 2026 is Seeds of Change, an eight-week mentorship and incubation programme designed for students and early-stage startups working in regenerative tourism and sustainable innovation.
The programme was created to extend the impact of PTSG beyond a one-day summit, while also identifying and nurturing young talents considered capable of carrying the regenerative mission forward.
Applications opened in May 2026 through a public open call. Participants are required to submit their CVs and essays as part of the initial selection process. Ten shortlisted teams will later be invited to attend the summit in June before joining the incubation programme running from July to August.
Throughout the programme, participants will receive mentorship in areas including business development, sustainability strategy, and the refinement of the social and environmental impact behind their ideas.
The programme will conclude in August with the submission of final business proposals developed throughout the incubation process. Two winning teams will receive grants totalling IDR 70 million, with IDR 50 million awarded to the first-place winner and IDR 20 million granted to the runner-up.
Encouraging Long-Term Collaboration
Through a combination of panel discussions, cross-sector collaboration, and incubation initiatives, PTSG 2026 aims to position sustainability not merely as a corporate agenda or industry trend, but as a long-term development framework.
Amid growing global attention toward climate issues, economic resilience, and social sustainability, the regenerative approach highlighted in this summit reflects how industries are increasingly searching for more inclusive and future-oriented models of growth.
Path to Sustainable Growth 2026 will take place on June 24, 2026, from 08:30 AM to 04:00 PM WITA at the Candi Ballroom, The Apurva Kempinski Bali.
