Foreign Tourist Arrivals in Southeast Asia, 2023

Thailand emerged as the top destination for international tourists in Southeast Asia in 2023, welcoming a remarkable 28.15 million visitors. This achievement solidifies Thailand's status as a leading tourism hub in the region, drawing in travelers with its vibrant culture, beautiful beaches, and rich history.

Following Thailand, Malaysia secured the second spot with 20.14 million international arrivals, while Singapore attracted 13.61 million visitors. Viet Nam and Indonesia also experienced strong tourism numbers, with 12.6 million and 11.68 million visitors, respectively.

Other Southeast Asian nations also contributed to the region’s tourism landscape. Cambodia welcomed 5.5 million visitors, and the Philippines closely followed with 5.45 million. Laos saw 3.4 million foreign tourists, while Myanmar recorded 1.28 million. Brunei Darussalam, the smallest nation in the region, had 120,000 international visitors. Unfortunately, no data was available for Timor-Leste.

The tourism figures for 2023 reflect the growing appeal of Southeast Asia as a top travel destination. With diverse cultures, landscapes, and attractions, the region continues to attract millions of travelers from around the world.
