AirAsia X will resume direct flights between Kuala Lumpur and Busan starting June 17, 2026, operating four times weekly and becoming the only Malaysian airline offering direct connectivity to South Korea's largest coastal city.

According to AirAsia X CEO Benyamin Ismail, this route marks the airline's 21st destination and second in South Korea, strengthening the carrier's market leadership in North Asia while making long-haul travel more accessible and welcoming Busan travelers to Malaysia in conjunction with Visit Malaysia 2026.

The airline is celebrating the route resumption with promotional fares starting from RM299 all-in one-way for economy class and RM999 all-in one-way for Premium Flatbed, available for booking until January 18, 2026, for travel between June 17 and November 30, 2026.

Busan, South Korea's second-largest city, offers travelers diverse experiences including pristine beaches, scenic mountains, rich cultural heritage, the vibrant Jagalchi Fish Market, colorful hillside villages, and the internationally acclaimed Busan International Film Festival.

The route expansion builds upon AirAsia X's existing Seoul service, demonstrating the airline's disciplined network growth strategy focused on North Asia while stimulating new travel demand between Malaysia and one of South Korea's most popular destinations.
