Indonesia AirAsia will launch direct flights connecting Bali and Da Nang, Viet Nam, beginning March 20, 2026, marking the airline's seventh international route from Bali and the only direct service between these two popular Southeast Asian destinations, according to Acting President Director Captain Achmad Sadikin Abdurachman.

The new service will operate four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Sundays, with outbound flights departing Denpasar at 2:15 PM and arriving in Da Nang at 5:55 PM, while return flights will depart Da Nang at 6:25 PM and arrive in Bali at 11:55 PM local time, strengthening tourism connectivity and offering fly-thru services from Jakarta and Labuanbajo to Da Nang via Bali.

Captain Sadikin emphasized that this route opens access to new destinations reachable directly from Bali, which already connects to Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Australia, while also linking Vietnam's central coast with Indonesia AirAsia's network to Australian cities including Perth, Adelaide, and Melbourne, creating flexible multi-destination travel opportunities for tourists from both countries and international visitors.

The timing is strategic as Viet Nam's National Statistics Office reported that international tourist arrivals reached 19.15 million visits from January to November 2025—a 20.9% increase year-over-year—with Indonesia contributing 13.8% growth, while Indonesia's Central Statistics Agency (BPS) recorded 80,313 Vietnamese visitors during the same period, reflecting growing two-way tourism potential between the nations.

Da Nang, Viet Nam's fifth-largest city known as the "Miami of Viet Nam," has surged in popularity on social media for its clean beaches, modern atmosphere, dynamic nightlife, street-side cafés, iconic lantern festivals, and proximity to renowned destinations like Hoi An and Hue, while Bali remains a strategic departure point for international travelers seeking to explore multiple Southeast Asian destinations in one trip.
