Bangkok has officially opened a massive 10-lane expansion of Chaiyaphruek Road, aiming to ease one of the city’s most chronic headaches: traffic congestion.
The newly widened stretch is designed to improve vehicle flow and reduce bottlenecks along key commuter routes, especially during rush hours in the city’s western zones.
According to local authorities, the project was prioritized due to rapid urban growth and increasing pressure on Bangkok’s transport infrastructure, which serves over 10 million residents.
The road now features five lanes in each direction, complete with designated bus stops and better access points to reduce merging delays and improve safety.
