Grab Malaysia has launched Women-Only Rides (Beta), a dedicated service that matches women passengers exclusively with verified women driver-partners, introduced in conjunction with International Women's Day 2026. The move responds directly to longstanding requests from both passengers and drivers for a more tailored safety option on the platform.

Currently available through Advance Booking in the Klang Valley, the service is visible only to women passengers and is designed to provide an additional layer of assurance for both sides of the journey. To access it, passengers must complete a one-time verification using their MyKad or passport alongside a selfie, cross-referenced against official records to confirm eligibility.

Grab Malaysia Managing Director Adelene Foo described the launch as a deepening of the company's longstanding commitment to safety and empowerment, built on the foundation of the #SisBoleh initiative first introduced in 2023. She emphasised that when women's peace of mind is prioritised, it also supports their path to financial independence.

Alongside the ride service, Grab also launched a nationwide Women Driver Acquisition campaign running from March 8 to September 30, 2026, aimed at growing its community of women driver-partners across Malaysia. New women driver-partners joining the platform are eligible for rewards totalling RM100,000, including fuel vouchers and a Proton Saga grand prize.

The service is backed by Grab's existing safety infrastructure, including AI-powered facial verification, number masking, real-time trip monitoring, an SOS emergency button, and AudioProtect, an encrypted audio recording feature mandatory for night-time rides between 10pm and 6am. The launch was attended by Deputy Minister of Women, Family and Community Development Lim Hui Ying.
