Hong Kong has claimed the top position as Asia's most international city in the inaugural Asian Cities Internationality Index, narrowly defeating Singapore in a closely contested ranking that evaluated 11 major cities across the region.
The comprehensive study was commissioned by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce (HKGCC) and independently conducted by global market research firm Ipsos, establishing the first-ever systematic measurement of internationality among Asian metropolitan centers.
The index assessed cities based on key indicators including connectivity, diversity, and cultural interaction, with Hong Kong edging out Singapore by the smallest of margins in this groundbreaking comparative analysis.
This achievement reinforces Hong Kong's position as a global gateway and international business hub, demonstrating its continued appeal as a cosmopolitan center that bridges East and West through its multicultural environment and extensive global connections.
The ranking highlights the intense competition between Asia's two leading financial centers, with both Hong Kong and Singapore consistently demonstrating their capacity to attract international talent, businesses, and investment while maintaining their status as premier destinations for global commerce and cultural exchange.
