Hong Kong has launched a major tourism initiative aimed at attracting wealthy travelers from the Middle East and Southeast Asia, focusing on cultural inclusion and halal-friendly hospitality.
By investing over HK$1.23 billion, the city is transforming its tourism industry with upgraded infrastructure, halal-certified dining, Arabic-speaking staff, and religious accommodations to cater to Muslim and elite tourists.
Hotels and restaurants are adapting with non-alcoholic minibars, prayer spaces, and Arabic language services, while the new luxury travel platform “Travel in Luxe Hong Kong” offers VIP experiences like private tours and concierge services.
With support from both government and private sectors, Hong Kong is positioning itself as a luxurious and inclusive destination, aiming to become a leading hub for high-end Muslim travelers while boosting its economy beyond traditional tourism markets.
