Indonesia has successfully developed the Bramara kamikaze drone, a domestically-produced loitering munition designed to enable ground forces to strike targets precisely without requiring traditional artillery or air support, showcasing the nation's growing defense technology capabilities at IndoDefence 2025.

PT Republik Defence, a member of Republikorp, created the Bramara as part of their BRAMA Series, featuring a compact design with a 400-gram warhead integrated directly into its fuselage, classifying it as a lightweight precision strike weapon suitable for tactical battlefield operations.

The development received strong institutional backing when Indonesia's then-Defense Minister and current President Prabowo Subianto declared in 2023 that the country "needs lots of kamikaze drones," reflecting strategic alignment with global defense trends observed in conflicts like Ukraine where similar systems prove tactically effective.

This indigenous drone represents Indonesia's commitment to reducing dependency on foreign military technology while building domestic defense industrial capacity, as the Bramara was first introduced publicly in 2023 alongside the larger Konta drone system during national defense exhibitions.

The Bramara's deployment capability allows Indonesian military units to conduct autonomous precision strikes without coordinating complex artillery or air support operations, potentially revolutionizing tactical engagement protocols and enhancing the effectiveness of ground-based military operations across the archipelago.
