Indonesian tycoon Dato' Sri Tahir plans to set aside US$10 million (around Rp163.5 billion) to build thousands of homes for Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, although the number of units that can be built is still uncertain.

This plan is in line with the international community's efforts to help reconstruct Gaza, where the Arab League Summit in Cairo has adopted Egypt's proposal for a US$53 billion reconstruction project.

Tahir expressed his commitment after receiving a medal from the Palestinian government at an event in Jakarta, emphasizing that as a citizen of the world, he wants to make a real contribution to those affected by the conflict.

Through various humanitarian initiatives such as those carried out by the Nusantara Palestina Center (NPC), assistance continues to be distributed to Palestinians, including the distribution of food packages, post-flood hygiene support, and the construction of emergency mosques to provide hope amidst the crisis.
