Intel Corporation has officially appointed Lip-Bu Tan as its new CEO, effective March 18, 2025, replacing interim Co-CEOs David Zinsner and Michelle Johnston Holthaus, and marking Tan's return to the board of directors after stepping down in August 2024.

A veteran in the semiconductor industry, Tan is known for leading Cadence Design Systems from 2009 to 2021, where he doubled the company's revenue, improved operating margins, and increased its stock value by more than 3,200 percent.

In addition to his corporate activities, Tan is also the founder and managing partner of Walden Catalyst Ventures, a venture capital firm focused on data, AI, cloud, fintech, and digital biology, and has invested in innovative companies in the US, Europe, and Israel.

Amidst major challenges facing Intel, including financial pressures from expanding its chip manufacturing business and intense competition from Nvidia and TSMC, Tan is determined to restore Intel's glory days by positioning the company as a global leader in world-class semiconductor product development and manufacturing.
