Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG) has announced the purchase of 30 Boeing aircraft as part of its fleet modernization efforts, consisting of 18 Boeing 737-8 and 12 Boeing 737-10 models, with an option for 30 additional planes.
The signing ceremony, held in Putrajaya, was attended by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, key ministers, and industry leaders, highlighting the deal’s significance for Malaysia’s aviation sector.
The Boeing 737-10 will be the first narrowbody aircraft in MAG’s fleet to offer lie-flat Business Class seats, enhancing passenger comfort on regional routes, while older Boeing 737-800s will be gradually phased out.
Currently operating 113 aircraft, MAG plans to transition to a modernized fleet of 55 Boeing 737-8 and 737-10 jets by 2030, with existing orders ensuring continued growth and operational efficiency.
