Malaysia tops Indonesia's foreign tourist arrivals with 21.58% share in May 2026

Indonesia welcomed 1.38 million foreign visitors in May 2026, up 5.83% year-on-year, according to BPS.

BPS Deputy Ateng Hartono said Malaysia remained the top source with 298,210 visits, followed by Australia and Singapore. From January to May, foreign arrivals reached 6.07 million, up 7.68%.

Domestic trips hit 106.16 million in May, while rail travel led transport growth with 46.96 million passengers.
