Singapore has once again been crowned the safest country in the world according to Gallup's Global Safety Report 2025, which surveyed over 145,000 adults across 144 countries and territories — with a remarkable 98% of Singaporean residents reporting they feel safe walking alone at night, the highest figure recorded globally.

This marks the 12th time in the past 19 years that Singapore has claimed the top spot on Gallup's safety ranking, a testament to the city-state's long-standing commitment to effective law enforcement, strict public order, and strong governance frameworks.

Among its Southeast Asian neighbors, Singapore leads by a significant margin — Vietnam follows at 88%, Indonesia at 83%, Thailand at 70%, and Malaysia at 58%, according to the same Gallup report.

Gallup noted that globally, 73% of adults reported feeling safe walking alone at night in 2024, the highest level since the organization began tracking this measure nearly two decades ago, with the Asia-Pacific region recording some of the strongest results overall.

Singapore's dominance across multiple global safety indices — including the Global Peace Index, where it ranked 6th worldwide and 1st in Asia-Pacific — continues to solidify its reputation as Southeast Asia's most trusted and secure destination for travelers worldwide.
