Singapore's Changi Airport has been crowned the world's least stressful airport according to a comprehensive new index by travel insurance comparison site iSelect, which evaluated 50 major airports globally across multiple stress-inducing factors.
The 13-time World's Best Airport winner by Skytrax scored highest in critical categories including immigration and customs efficiency, security check speeds, check-in wait times, and ease of airport access, while also achieving the second-lowest rate of cancelled flights after Seoul's Incheon International Airport.
Doha's Hamad International Airport ranked second in the stress-free index, followed by Seoul's Incheon International Airport in third place, demonstrating Asia's dominance in providing calm and efficient travel experiences for passengers worldwide.
Conversely, Newark Liberty International Airport in New Jersey topped the list as the world's most stressful airport, with other American hubs including New York's John F. Kennedy International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport ranking fourth and fifth respectively among the most anxiety-inducing airports.
Beyond its operational excellence, Changi Airport offers travelers numerous stress-relieving amenities including a butterfly garden, free 24-hour cinema, rock climbing facility, and Jewel Changi—the iconic airport mall featuring the world's largest indoor waterfall and an entire indoor forest designed to calm nerves before flights.
