Thailand has welcomed over one million Indian tourists in the first half of 2025, according to the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), marking a significant milestone in bilateral tourism relations between the two nations.

This achievement reflects the growing India-Thailand travel bond, driven by visa exemptions, digital arrival cards, and Thailand's diverse tourism offerings that make it accessible and affordable for Indian travelers.

The milestone comes as part of Thailand's broader tourism recovery, with the Ministry of Tourism and Sports reporting 15,016,878 total foreign visitors from January 1 to June 8, 2025, despite a nearly 3% decline compared to the same period last year.

Thailand's appeal to Indian tourists stems from enhanced connectivity with increased flight options, streamlined visa processes, and the country's reputation for offering diverse travel experiences ranging from cultural attractions to beach destinations.

The Tourism Authority of Thailand has set ambitious targets for 2025, projecting 36-39 million international visitors and aiming to generate 1.98-2.23 trillion Baht in tourism revenue as the country strengthens its position as a premier global tourism hub.
