Thailand's stunning southern provinces of Krabi, Phang Nga, and Trang served as key filming locations for American science fiction film Jurassic World Rebirth, with production taking place from June to July 2024 and utilizing a budget exceeding 400 million baht.
The Department of Tourism reports that filming created employment opportunities for more than 2,245 Thai nationals, including production crews and local service providers, while benefiting from Thailand's attractive 20% cash rebate incentive program for foreign productions.
Key filming sites included Khao Phanom Bencha National Park and Huai To Waterfall in Krabi, Koh Kradan in Trang, and Ao Phang Nga National Park in Phang Nga, providing the lush tropical forests, waterfalls, and pristine beaches that form the backdrop for the movie's dinosaur-filled scenes.
The blockbuster film starring Scarlett Johansson, Mahershala Ali, Jonathan Bailey, and Rupert Friend is scheduled for worldwide release on July 2, 2025, and is expected to significantly boost tourism by highlighting Thailand's scenic landscapes to global audiences.
Local tourism operators anticipate increased visitor interest, especially in less-visited areas featured in the film such as Ao Luek and Ban Bakan village in Krabi, with expected benefits for hotel bookings, tour operators, and transport services across the region.
