Vietnamese technology company CT Group secured its first-ever export deal to supply 5,000 drones to South Korean drone technology firm Airbility, with the agreement signed at the Viet Nam–RoK Economic Forum in Seoul in the presence of Party General Secretary Tô Lâm and South Korean Prime Minister Kim Min-seok.

CT Group's subsidiary CT UAV will deliver heavy-lift drones capable of carrying payloads between 60-300 kg, featuring an impressive 85% indigenization rate and representing Viet Nam's entry into high-tech UAV manufacturing for export markets.

The company has mastered core drone technologies and developed 16 UAV models with varying capabilities for diverse applications including agriculture, cargo transport, urban management, security, firefighting, and search and rescue operations.

Markets & Data analysts valued Viet Nam's UAV market at $73 million in 2023 with projections to reach $191 million by 2031, noting that this South Korean contract demonstrates Viet Nam's readiness to compete in high-level technology arenas globally.

Beyond the drone deal, CT Group also signed agreements to assemble 100 million semiconductor chips for South Korean tech firm Imagis and establish cooperation with Inha University for semiconductor training and technology transfer, marking Viet Nam's growing tech export capabilities.
