Viet Nam's cashless payment platform Zalopay has officially expanded its 'International QR Scan' feature to China, completing a comprehensive network of six Asian countries including Singapore, Japan, South Korea, Malaysia, and Indonesia where users can make seamless payments using Vietnamese dong.

Vietnamese tourists and business travelers can now make direct payments from the Zalopay app at shopping centers, tourist attractions, restaurants and shops across these six countries without needing to convert currency or register for international credit cards, simplifying cross-border transactions significantly.

Le Lan Chi, CEO of Zalopay, emphasized that expanding this feature to China provides Vietnamese users with a more convenient and uninterrupted payment experience wherever they go, describing it as "a strategic step in reinforcing our role as a reliable financial companion."

The company aims to introduce a reverse feature enabling international tourists visiting Vietnam to pay via QR using Visa and Mastercard cards issued from any country by the end of 2025, further enhancing bilateral payment convenience.

Tran Ba Khoi Nguyen, chairman of Zalopay, revealed ambitious future plans where users will be able to scan QR codes not just for payments, but for everyday functions such as Wi-Fi access, bank card information, or even license plates to settle traffic fines immediately.
