If you dream of travelling the world but are worried about the cost of accommodation, you may be encouraged by a new guide to hostels that offer backpackers the ultimate combination of quality and affordability, Lonely Planet reported.

According to the hostel-booking platform, Hostelworld, Southeast Asia remains one of its most-booked regions, and accommodation there dominates its top ten list, which was based on more than 16,500 hostels listed on its website.

“The low price point of the hostels that made it into our ‘Bang For Your Buck List’ mean that people have more money to spend on what matters – having unique experiences and collecting memories,” says Hostelworld’s Catriona Flood.

“People don’t want to sacrifice quality for cost when they’re away from home. Our findings demonstrate how hostels in Cambodia and Vietnam have risen to the challenge by offering unique places to stay and great social spaces, for less than the cost of a meal deal.”

These are the top ten hostels on Hostelworld’s Bang For Your Buck List:
