Most of us spend time surfing on the internet. Everything is digital –from communication with people, shopping to banking. It is very important to keep your privacy intact in case of hacking or other internet crimes. While we can take advantage of 2-factor authentication for double security for our account, having a strong password is also essential for all internet users.

Although it should be evident that password plays such an essential rule in the internet, many people still use terrible passwords. NordPass compiled a list of some of the worst passwords people could think of in 2020. Here are they:

  1. 123456
  2. 123456789
  3. picture1
  4. password
  5. 12345678
  6. 111111
  7. 123123
  8. 12345
  9. 1234567890
  10. senha
  11. 1234567
  12. qwerty
  13. abc123
  14. Million2
  15. 000000
  16. 1234
  17. iloveyou
  18. aaron431
  19. password1
  20. qqww1122

It is 2020, and we are surprised as to why do people still use 123456 for their password. And also, ‘password’ for a password? Nothing would make it weirder than this. Ironically, ‘password’ as a password always appears in the list as the worst password ever used every year.

Well, no password is wrong –but the password does play a very significant role in your internet security. For most people, an easy password may easier to remember, but it is also easier to predict. If you have the same password as listed above, we suggest you change your password into more potent combinations of words or numbers for your safety. You can also use a password manager to help you manage your password for different accounts.

In case you do not know what a password manager is, it is a feature that helps you link all of your online accounts to one password manager, and just worry about remembering one password for your manager. It makes things easier for you, and it is very recommended for you to maintain your online accounts.
