Last Thursday (February 15), Vinfast Auto (Nasdaq: VFS), a Vietnam-based automobile manufacturer, made a significant move by unveiling a fleet of right-hand drive electric vehicles at the Indonesia International Motor Show (IIMS) 2024. Indonesia is the first country chosen by VinFast to introduce right-hand drive electric vehicles.
During the event, VinFast introduced electric vehicles from A-SUV to E-SUV categories, namely VF 5, VF e34, VF 6, VF 7, VF 8, and VF 9 models. All models except the V8 and V9, which fall under categories A to C, became the first electric vehicle models launched by VinFast in Indonesia.
VinFast's presence at IIMS 2024 is a milestone for the Blue Dragon Country to enter the domestic electric vehicle market, and marks the next step in VinFast's global expansion and commitment to promoting green and sustainable transportation locally and globally.
VinFast introduced the theme of "Living Unbound" across all its models at this event, inviting Indonesian consumers to join in the exploration of unlimited transportation possibilities towards a more modern, green and sustainable future.
VinFast presents vehicles with modern and youthful designs, integrated with the latest technology to meet all users' needs. Moreover, with flexible sales policies and after-sales services, VinFast is committed to making green transportation more affordable and accessible to all customers.
VinFast will also work with local providers to build a convenient and affordable national network of charging stations. This ambitious plan will take electric mobility to a new level in Indonesia and significantly accelerate the adoption of sustainable transportation in the market.
Earlier, VinFast announced plans to build a local electric vehicle manufacturing plant in Indonesia with an estimated production capacity of 50,000 vehicles per year. It is hoped that the construction of this plant will create thousands of jobs and strengthen the local electric vehicle industry. In addition, once operational, the plant is expected to become an integral part of VinFast's global electric vehicle supply chain.
