Russia is considering visa relaxation policies for several Southeast Asian countries as part of its efforts to strengthen diplomatic relations and attract more tourists to the country.

According to reports from various sources, Russia is exploring visa exemption mechanisms for individual tourists from Malaysia and group travelers from Vietnam.
This initiative is similar to policies already implemented for China and Iran, where group travel through licensed operators is granted visa facilitation.
Additionally, Russia continues to expand e-visa access and promote the Discover Russia campaign in ASEAN countries, including Indonesia.
The Vice President of the Russian Travel Industry Association, Dmitry Gorin, stated that the increasing demand for travel to Russia is a key factor behind this policy.
