The 2024/25 season was nothing short of glorious for Buriram United. Not only did the Thai powerhouse emerge as the most valuable club in Southeast Asia—boasting an estimated market value of €15.25 million—but they also completed a historic quadruple, clinching four trophies in a single season.
Their brilliance was not confined to domestic competitions. Buriram also made waves on the continental stage, reaching the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League Elite™ 2024/25, before their campaign came to an end at the hands of a Saudi giant. It was a run that added an extra layer of drama to their already remarkable journey.
Now, let’s break down the story of how Buriram transformed into Southeast Asia’s new footballing titan.
The Thrill of a Quadruple Campaign
During the 2024/25 season, Buriram won four major titles: the Thai League 1, the Thai FA Cup, the Thai League Cup, and the ASEAN Club Championship (Shopee Cup™).
Their ASEAN triumph came in dramatic fashion, sealed through a penalty shootout victory against Công An Hà Nội after a 5–5 aggregate thriller. Earlier, on May 24, 2025, Buriram edged out Muangthong United 3–2 in the FA Cup Final at Thammasat Stadium.
They added the Thai League Cup shortly after, defeating Lamphun Warriors 2–0 thanks to injury-time goals from Guilherme Bissoli and Dion Cools (late May 2025).
Domestic Supremacy Without Equal
On the home front, Buriram asserted their dominance once again, clinching their 10th Thai League 1 title—and their fourth in a row.
They closed out the season in emphatic style with a 7–0 win over Nongbua Pitchaya on the final matchday. Star striker Guilherme Bissoli capped off a sensational campaign as the league’s top scorer, recording 20 goals and 5 assists in just 21 matches.
Footprints on the Asian Stage
Buriram also proved their strength on the continental front by reaching the quarterfinals of the AFC Champions League Elite™.
In March 2025, they knocked out Malaysian giants Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) with a narrow 1–0 aggregate victory in the Round of 16, thanks to a decisive goal from Suphanat Mueanta. This achievement marked their first return to the quarterfinals since 2013.
However, their journey ended in the last eight, where they fell 0–3 to Saudi champions Al-Ahli in April 2025 at Jeddah. Head coach Arthur Loss described the defeat as a “heartbreak,” but also as a valuable lesson for the club’s future growth.
Their reputation as a regional powerhouse continues to make Buriram a magnet for top talent, lucrative sponsorships, and media attention—factors that help sustain their market value at around €15.25 million.
Southeast Asia’s Most Valuable Club (2025/26)
According to Transfermarkt (August 2025), Buriram United currently stands as the most valuable club in Southeast Asia, with an estimated market value of €15.25 million.
This valuation surpasses their closest regional rivals, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) at €12.90 million, and Persib Bandung at €6.99 million—both of which command some of the largest fan bases in the region.
Squad Composition & the Power of Foreign Talent
Buriram carefully balances local and foreign players in their squad. For the 2025/26 season, they registered 40 players, including 16 foreigners, maintaining their position as ASEAN’s leading club in terms of international recruitment.
Among their standout foreign signings are Neil Etheridge (Philippines), the former Premier League goalkeeper; Lucas Crispim (Brazil), a creative midfielder; and Guilherme Bissoli (Brazil), a prolific striker. These stars blend seamlessly with homegrown talents such as Suphanat Mueanta and Supachai Chaided, giving Buriram both international flair and strong local identity.
