A Map of Countries Possesing Aircraft Carriers Around the World

The following is a list of aircraft carriers that are currently in service, under maintenance or refit, in reserve, under construction, or being updated.

An aircraft carrier is defined as a warship equipped with a full-length flight deck, hangar, and facilities for arming, deploying, and recovering aircraft. This list includes helicopter carriers and amphibious assault ships, provided their primary function is to carry, arm, deploy, and recover aircraft.

It is important to note that the list focuses solely on the status of the ships themselves and does not consider the availability or condition of their air wings.

In Southeast Asia, Thailand stands out as the only country to own an aircraft carrier. The HTMS Chakri Naruebet, bearing the hull number CVH-911, serves as Thailand’s flagship and is the country's first and only aircraft carrier. Despite the Royal Thai Navy designating her as an "Offshore Patrol Helicopter Carrier," she is capable of operating fixed-wing aircraft thanks to her ski-jump configuration.
