Changi is the Busiest Airport in ASEAN, Surpassing Soekarno-Hatta!

The ranking of the top 10 airports in Southeast Asia remains consistent, collectively representing 60% of the region's total capacity. In May 2024, Singapore Airport has ascended to become the largest airport by capacity in Southeast Asia, boasting a total of 3.16 million seats. Conversely, Jakarta, previously occupying the top position, has shifted down a rank to become the second-largest airport in the region, with a capacity of 3.14 million seats for the month.

Notably, both Ho Chi Minh City (SGN) and Hanoi (HAN) have experienced substantial growth in capacity, witnessing a notable 6% increase in seats this month. This surge positions them as the airports with the most significant rise in passenger capacity within the region.

These developments underscore the dynamic nature of air travel in Southeast Asia, with airports continually adapting to meet the evolving demands of passengers and the aviation industry. Such insights into airport capacities provide valuable information for travelers and stakeholders alike, facilitating strategic planning and decision-making within the aviation sector.
