The Philippines has become the country with the highest value-added tax (VAT) rate in Southeast Asia!
According to data collected by PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC), the Philippines is listed as having the highest VAT rate in the Southeast Asian region for the period 2023-2024.
The VAT rate in the Philippines has reached 12%. Meanwhile, Indonesia currently has a rate of 11% and plans to raise it to 12%, similar to the rate in the Philippines. The Indonesian government plans to increase the VAT rate next year.
