Maya Bay, Thailand is one of the top five beaches in the world!
Based on a survey conducted by Beach Atlas titled Golden Beach Award 2024, there are 100 best beaches in the world selected conventionally, covering various aspects of what makes a beach exceptional.
This is the first selection that expands criteria including value to the local community, DEI, lifestyle, and cultural significance. This broader approach allows Beach Atlas to highlight unique beaches that are typically not included in traditional ‘best beach’ lists. Based on these criteria, the selection process involves travel experts and influencers from around the world to contribute their votes and compile this list.
Out of these 100 beaches, there are 9 beaches in Southeast Asia, with Maya Bay ranking 5th, followed by Pattaya Beach in Thailand at 12th place, and Kelingking Beach in Indonesia at 34th place.
