As of June 2024, just before the Paris 2024 Olympics, the World Taekwondo rankings for the Kyorugi Women’s -49 kg category reveal a competitive field of top athletes. Leading the rankings is Panipak Wongpattanakit from Thailand, maintaining her position as the world’s top taekwondo practitioner in this weight class. Wongpattanakit, who is the reigning Olympic champion from Tokyo 2020 and is set to defend her title at Paris 2024, has accumulated an impressive 628.50 points.
Following closely behind Wongpattanakit is Adriana Cerezo Iglesias with 618.12 points, showcasing strong performances in the lead-up to the Games. Merve Dincel Kavurat holds the third spot with 481.79 points, while Bruna Duvancic and Daniela Paola Souza round out the top five with 332.10 and 323.31 points, respectively.
Other notable competitors include Qing Guo and Bora Kang, who hold the sixth and seventh positions with 292.21 and 182.42 points. Mobina Nematzadeh and Abishag Semberg follow, with 181.19 and 173.77 points, respectively. The top ten also features Lena Stojkovic, Supharada Kisskalt, Saffron Tambyrajah, and Camila Bezerra, all of whom are formidable contenders in this weight class.
The rankings highlight the global talent pool in the Kyorugi Women’s -49 kg category, with Panipak Wongpattanakit continuing to stand out as a dominant force. Her consistent performance underscores her position as a leading contender for the upcoming Olympics in Paris.
