Batik Air has launched four new direct routes from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport (Subang Airport) in Selangor, Malaysia, offering flights to Singapore and Jakarta (commencing December 8, 2025), Johor Bahru (December 11), and Langkawi (December 12), strengthening Subang's position as a convenient city gateway for travelers in the Klang Valley.
Batik Air head of marketing Bavani Veeriah stated that "Subang Airport is buzzing again, and we are truly excited to be part of this new wave of growth, driven by its central location and renewed energy," with the airline's expansion supporting the Malaysian government's Subang Airport Regeneration Plan aimed at repositioning Subang as a modern city airport.
Batik Air CEO Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy emphasized that Subang's central location, combined with ongoing upgrades, is transforming the airport into an essential hub for air travel, with improved connectivity expected to bring more visitors into Malaysia while strengthening economic ties, trade flow, and regional cooperation.
Tourism Malaysia Deputy Director General Samuel Lee welcomed the initiative, stating "this launch represents a significant step in strengthening tourism ties between Malaysia, Singapore, and Indonesia as we gear up for Visit Malaysia 2026, by enhancing connectivity and positioning Malaysia as a premier destination and gateway to ASEAN".
In addition to the newly launched routes, Batik Air already operates flights from Subang to several domestic and regional destinations including Penang, Kota Bharu, Kota Kinabalu, Kuching, and Bangkok, with the airline offering promotional fares as low as MYR169 one-way to celebrate the expansion.
