Canada will ease visa rules for eligible Indonesian and Malaysian citizens starting May 26, 2026.
Immigration Minister Lena Metlege Diab said the move strengthens Canada’s Indo–Pacific ties. Eligible air travelers with a Canadian visa in the past 10 years or a valid US visa can apply for a $7 eTA instead of a $100 visa.
The eTA can be processed in minutes, with officials expecting the update to boost tourism, trade, and economic ties.
