Vietnam Airlines has officially launched a new direct air route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Phuket, Thailand, effective April 2, 2026. The service operates five times weekly, on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, using Airbus A321 aircraft.
Outbound flight VN621 departs Ho Chi Minh City at 16:00 and arrives in Phuket at 17:50 local time, while the return flight VN620 leaves Phuket at 18:45 and lands back in Ho Chi Minh City at 20:55.
Vietnam Airlines President and CEO Le Hong Ha stated that the new service is part of the airline's broader strategy to expand its international footprint across Southeast Asia, while meeting growing travel and tourism demand between Vietnam and Thailand.
To mark the launch, Vietnam Airlines is offering promotional fares with round-trip economy class tickets starting from 4,033,000 VND (approximately USD 153), inclusive of taxes and fees, while business class round trips begin at 15,182,000 VND. Tickets are available for purchase until April 30, 2026, with travel valid through September 30, 2026.
This new route adds to Vietnam Airlines' growing international network, following the reopening and launch of 14 international routes in 2025. The airline also announced plans to introduce a direct Hanoi to Amsterdam route from June 2026, marking the first nonstop connection between Vietnam and the Netherlands.
